Ded Rabbit

Ded Rabbit are a four piece alt rock/indie band consisting of four brothers: Eugene (vocals, rhythm guitar), Fergus (lead guitar), Donal (bass) and Eoin Gaine (drums).
Originally from Yorkshire, we moved to the Highlands in 1996 and through the isolation and a developing love of music, we started playing together about ten years ago. After moving to Edinburgh to study, we began taking music more seriously and recently feel we’ve started to find our feet in the studio, working on the last three EP’s in Glasgow with Rocket Science Studios, who have recorded Texas, Belle And Sebastian, Dougie MacLean and many more.

“Their music echoes the influences they cite like Hendrix and The Beatles (post-1965) but they are avid gig-goers too, eager to see what is going on nowadays, so they are just as likely to be out watching Peace or Palma Violets as they are at home listening to Abbey Road or Electric Ladyland” (John Paul Mason, Daily Record)

“With hints of The Housemartins and early Arctic Monkeys infused with a twist of funk and original lyrics, they have created a distinctive and highly listenable sound of their own” (Olaf Furniss & Derick Mackinnon, Artist Of The Week: Scotland On Sunday)

They have received a warm response for their current releases with a good share of air-play from Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland, XFM and Sat Bisla’s Passport Approved show has recently been airing ‘Better On The Day’ on various station worldwide.

“I know they’re very hard working and are building up a good following in the capital… classic indie sound” (Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland)

After touring ‘Wake Up In A Dream’, they returned to Edinburgh to play the Wide Days Music Convention at their sold out showcase gig and received a great response.

“Undeniable stage presence and performance skills…  an exciting live band that will appeal widely and who are definitely festival-ready” (David Balfour, Record Of The Day)

They perform live frequently, recently completing UK tours of our EP’s ‘Wash Away’, ‘Wake Up In A Dream’ and most recently ‘Moving In Slow Motion’ (released July ’15). The latest EP has had a great response so far. Gigwise described their latest single ‘Scartlet Cardigan’ as a “blistering Indie belter”.

As a band, they have become notorious for an energetic live performance which has landed them support slots in Edinburgh for bands such as The 1975 and Man Made and festival slots, having previously appeared at Rough Beats festival, Liverpool Sound City as well as headlining Saturday night on the T Break stage of T In The Park ’15.

“The very talented 4 piece, Ded Rabbit … I must say, I really was quite impressed by the bands live performance. I had a chance to see them live a few weeks ago at the XPO North festival in Inverness” (Sat Bisla, A&R worldwide on Passport Approved)

“It’s an explosive affair when you see Ded Rabbit live. I’d put them up there with Catfish And TheBottlemen as one of the best live acts around at the moment” (Jim Gellatly)
