OLD BIO:

Jonnie Common is a Glasgow-based artist signed to Manchester’s Red Deer Club label.  Jonnie’s 2011 debut LP ‘MASTER OF NONE’ was championed by radio darlings Marc Riley, Lauren Laverne and Vic Galloway. As a result, he performed live BBC sessions for both Riley (BBC 6 Music – Nov 2nd) and Galloway (BBC Radio Scotland – Dec 5th).

In early 2011, Jonnie released a compilation (‘DESKJOB’) featuring his extensive productions of no less than 10 much lauded emerging Scottish acts (including: Meursault, Panda Su, Conquering Animal Sound & eagleowl), the respect and trust of whom he’s managed to earn over the past couple of years since dissolving his former identity as Down the Tiny Steps (Fence Records).

In late 2011, Master Of None was remixed in its entirety by a rich cast of Jonnie’s production savvy chums including Geese, Dems, FOUND, Ben Butler & Mousepad and Miaoux Miaoux. This release (‘HAIR OF THE DOG’) was launched with an interactive sound installation by Jonnie, in which the public could create their own surround-sound mixes of the material from ‘Master Of None’.

These 3 projects earned Jonnie a place in The List magazine’s annual Hot 100, “The definitive list of Scottish creative talent.” and widely announced his presence as both creative entity and catalyst.

‘Master Of None’ press quotes:

“a Scottish pop album that should – if we’re doing this right – be one of the sounds of the summer” Sunday Herald
“clarity, purpose, lots of good tunes and an unashamedly Scots-accented delivery” The Scotsman
“a pop genius hiding behind excessive modesty” Song, By Toad
