Little Buddha

BIOG

From deep within their very own secret world come the cinematic sounds of Little Buddha.

Founded in 2009 by innovative jazz bassist Grant Tyrie, singer/lyricist Kat McDonald, keyboard player FerGus Black and drummer/percussionist Ian Anderson, Little Buddha have a unique bass and electronics led sound, galvanised by the intricacies of dynamic beats with an irresistible groove, topped by an alternately soaring yet intimate vocal delivery, hypnotising the listener.

Little Buddha have used their self-imposed isolation from the dull and dismal clichés of the mainstream music scene to develop a truly unique, sultry vision and sound, influenced by the likes of Bjork, old-school trip-hop, Jaco Pastorius and vintage cinema scores by greats such as John Barry, Henry Mancini and Lalo Schiffrin.

Having now dealt with the big bad world of the macrocosm, with extensive national tours of both the UK and the US under their own steam, Little Buddha spent 2011/2012 year becoming masters of the microcosm….

Leaping directly into the future (where you will spend the rest of your lives), via the exciting frontier of YouTube, Little Buddha have typically taken full control: having attained YouTube Partnership within 6 weeks of launch of ‘littlebuddhatv’ channel, the first independent Scottish band to do so…. this is indeed unprecedented!
