Boasting roots in The Borders and the Isle of Skye, The Last September are an Edinburgh-based indie-rock band combining Americana and folk undertones, who actually also remind us a wee bit of classic REM. They released their eagerly-anticipated third album, Volcano, in October, commissioning BAFTA-winning artist Anslie Henderson (also a musician of no mean talent himself) to make a video for lead single This Train Remains. Henderson’s genius stop-motion animation video has now had 87k hits on Vimeo and, needless to say, it’s garnered the band a raft of new fans! Volcano drew praise from various respected quarters, including The Sun, Scottish Fiction and Supajam.
