Meursault

Meursault live at Limbo

Having first championed Meursault at Limbo back in 2008 and then countless more gigs after that one, consequently witnessing first-hand as they grew to become an internationally touring outfit, we’re all very excited to be welcoming back songwriter Neil Pennycook with his brand new outfit, Supermoon. If you never caught Meursault, it’s still very much Neil’s voice at the heart and, while recent shows have been solo, this performance will involve a full live band.  It’s also the launch of a new limited edition tape release he’s doing.  Needless to say, we can’t wait!

Main support comes from another new act with no mean pedigree, STEMS, alias candythief‘s Diana de Cabarrus and Anne Aulman, plus Kirsten Adamson (The Gillyflowers etc). They’ve been tearing up the country with their originals bands, ploughing all kinds of psych, country, post rock, indie, new wave and folky furrows. Now they’re joining forces to create gorgeous, three-part vocal harmonies backed by killer arrangements that include cello, guitar, bodhran, synth mandolin and auto-harp. Don’t be late!

And first on stage will be new outfit Thirty Three Connection, a drummer/pianist duo who having making waves around Edinburgh and gaining fans aplenty for the past wee while with a traditional/organic piano sound, complimentary/energetic drums and harmonic vocals. They promise to set the night up very well, via the opening slot…

As usual, the Black Spring DJs will be warming the room up from the minute the doors open, joining the dots between the bands and keeping the party going afterwards.

Early Bird Tickets are just £4 but these are strictly Limited Edition and only available until Sat 28th March, so don’t hang around if you want to save cash…!
